St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church
A Living Community of Orthodox Faith in Jersey City
Service Schedule
We gather every Saturday and Sunday. Orthros begins the morning in quiet prayer, and the Divine Liturgy follows. All are welcome - come as you are.
Every Saturday & Sunday
Your first visit, step by step
Walking into an Orthodox church for the first time can feel unfamiliar. Here is exactly what to do, from parking to a pew.
- 01
Park for free
Use the Hudson County Courthouse open lot at 583 Newark Avenue. Parking there is free on weekends.
- 02
Walk one block
From the lot it is a short, one-block walk to the church at 524 Summit Avenue. Look for the doors facing Summit.
- 03
Come inside
Enter whenever you arrive and find a seat. You may light a candle as you walk in - greeters are happy to help.
- 04
Worship with us
Follow along or simply take it in. After the Liturgy, join us for coffee and meet the community.
